Configuration Management Engineers

Department: Engineering
Location: Hill AFB, UT

Azimuth Corporation is seeking Configuration Management Engineers, in support of an Air Force customer at Hill AFB, Utah. The ideal candidates will provide expertise and assist the government in the development and implementation of computer-based configuration, data management systems and electronic data support.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Tracks the status of data deliverables.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable government standards, regulations, and technical orders relating to the maintenance, change and control of deliverable requirements design and product specification documents, engineering drawings etc.
  • Analyze engineering change proposals, design reviews, audits, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Develop and design configuration/data management documentation.
  • Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure standards and requirements are being met.
  • Identify requirements and the development and implementation of computer-based configuration, data management systems, and electronic data systems.
  • Develop and implement new processes.
  • Lead tasks and supervise staff in preparing configuration management plans and procedures, perform configuration audits, monitor trouble reports and change requests, evaluate, and select tools to automate the change control process, and provide status accounting support.
  • Assist in the evaluation, definition, standardization, and tracking of data elements and object names.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering discipline and 4+ years of experience OR Masters Degree in Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience OR PhD and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • In-depth understanding of Configuration Management requirements as specified in Air Force Regulations and industry standards.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply complex management and administrative principles.
  • Understanding of system equipment specification use and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and contractor engineering control/release processes
  • Ability to interpret policy and procedures applicable to configuration management functions, and to tailor them to program requirements.
  • Understanding of estimating/pricing techniques as related to proposal evaluation.
  • Knowledge of, and skill in, the use of principles of negotiation as required to reconcile diverse opinions that can arise from conflicts in ECP evaluation/contracting, design reviews, and audits.
  • Substantial knowledge of system program office and contractor operations and familiarity with the various management and technical disciplines involved, sufficient to enable understanding of technical and procurement terminology and procedures.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License
  • Systems Engineering Certification
  • Experience working with digital data and helping users navigate complex applications.

Physical Requirements / Travel

  • Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer.
  • May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
